Re: Brink
Well, you gotta play it the right way. You only get SMGs and light rifles as primaries for light body type, and you can't really go head to head with heavies.

Re: Brink
Secondaries - pistols, revolvers, machinepistols Light weaponry - light rifles, SMGs Medium weaponry - Shotguns, Assault rifles Heavy weaponry - Machineguns, grenade launchers
Each bodytype can use all the guns in a lower tier than itself as secondaries aswell as primaries and the guns in it's own tier only as primaries.

Re: Brink
Bought Brink last night, not bad, but a little messy. All the mechanics are explained (over and over) in this long-as-hell introduction video (that they bait you with 1000 free xp points to watch before playing). It kind of plays like CoD with Tribe's weight/weaponry system and TF2's classes on the side. The heavies tank and the lights can fly about some of the condensed maps like crazed monkeys. Regardless, the game plays out mostly like a screaming run-n'-gun with bodies piling up around objective points.
The bots suck (no surprise), but I mean really, really suck. There's secondary objective points that give your team a buff in health/supply/whatever and they make a bad habit of all deciding to flock those at once and completely ignore the fact that you're trying to run a gauntlet from one end of the map to the other with the flag (err- data-whatever thing). Still have to try online with other players, though, I'm hoping it plays out a bit more coherently. Sorting out some internet connection issues in the mean time.

Re: Brink
Game was underrated.
So far, beating only the Resistance Campaign and I love it.
I agree with Twigg, The Game is a bit messy , AI sucks, but what game's AI doesn't suck? SMART was more useful and fun than anticipated, you use it more often than you would shoot, also who doesn't love to dive and slide across the floor spraying an SMG at your enemy and watch him drop as you get back up? The weapons are pretty balanced with each being a tad bit different than each other with their own Pros and Cons. Realism wise, they did a good job aswell. Having a grenade explode beside you and get knocked down with that side of your head deafened briefly is a pretty cool experience.
Customization didn't entirely come out to be though, I'll say I was expecting from changing your firing mode all the way to changing your muzzle length and changing your red dot (Considering there are three, all which do the same thing AFAIK since I only used one so far) but didn't really go that far, which was a tad bit disappointing. The only thing that didn't seem to make sense to me was Character customization, It seemed useless if you can't see yourself throughout the entire time, excluding the menu, which is all you see. Voice acting and Art direction was absolutely incredible though, the amount of time and effort put into that made it flawless.
If for anything I'd give this an 8.5/10, But that's just my opinion.

Re: Brink
Yeah, the SMART button is absolutely amazing. Run run run, vault over baggage, dive off a balcony, slide under debris, come out the other side and knock a guy's legs out from under him, run again, get decked in the face by a heavy and rip him up with lead from the ground before he finishes you off. Get back up, repeat until dead or victory.
Interesting glitch I discovered tonight. Friend and I were playing, he was light and snagging objectives, I was tanking around as a heavy with that starter LMG with 100 rounds on a belt. After the match I switched to a light again but forgot to reselect my weapons. For some reason until I went and changed my loadout on the main menus, I was running around as the most obnoxiously over powered bastard with a machine gun, parkouring like a spider monkey. Recoil felt like it was almost nulled, too. Pretty sure that's going to be patched very soon.

Re: Brink
A light using the gmg or the automatic shotgun would be amazing.

Re: Brink
Brink is very, very good, imo. I've only really played the challenges, and a few of the campaign missions. But it's also really buggy, and seems to have been pulled from the Steam store? Can someone confirm that?

It's still on the steam store for me. What does this lead you to?

Re: Brink
It seems to have been pulled from UK and Poland, as far as I can tell. Fairly bizarre, but I'm not too bothered since I've already unlocked it.

Re: Brink
What makes it look horrible?
Based off of gameplay, this is a damn good game.
