Re: Dwarf-DRL Fortress
It's summer now, fort's been starting as forts start. It's a chalk layer, there's sand too. Also a brook. ... Yeeeep. Spring has arrived.I managed to kill a dwarf by pumping water into a too small cistern. There's now a flooding mechanism should trouble arise underground. But yeah. This layer has rediculous amounts of magnetite. Theres a few clusters to the west too. I'd advise getting to magma pronto. I've set up military, a burrow for a civilian alert, training schedules. I think some stuff like kitchens/craftsdwarves shops are in a mess. Xbow dwarves need ammo. Disst, go get some. I really don't care how long the turn is, just try to keep it under three ingame years and maybe under an actual week. And for the love of god log more than I did. Perhaps export a DFMA map once you're done. Click

Re: Dwarf-DRL Fortress
A random farmer migrant who happened to have pump operating skill. This was actually lucky, because otherwise I would've had Foil pump it instead.

Re: Dwarf-DRL Fortress
Will edit in other ♥♥♥♥ later. Oh ♥♥♥♥ yes. Platinum statues, here we come. The glorious bituminous coal and magnetite storage area is planned. Quantum storage is dumb. End of turn report: Some ♥♥♥hole wasted some chalk and saltpeter on a mug worthy of legends, the militia slaughtered an elf caravan, and there's now wolf corpses all over. Dorf housing phase one is complete. Unfurnished and unsmoothed. Two migrant waves came by. SKIVBe sure to set stockpiles in the huge mined-out magnetite cluster, and the huge empty area I dug on the cavern staircase.

Place your bets that the immigrant named after me will bite the dust within his first year.

Re: Dwarf-DRL Fortress
Ugh, I never understood the point of invidual bedrooms.
Single legendary communal barracks and everyone is happy even if knee-deep in loved-one blood.
But isn't that the point of DF.
Knee-deep in loved-one blood.
Anyways, looking good.
If it's not too late, you should consider digging the coal storage to dirt. No hauling needed to get it working.
