Duh, about the main gate, DS's wall doesn't extend far enough for me to put the gate in a specific location... I wanted to coordinate with him but he wasn't online at the time.

The only thing you have to do besides run the .exe linked here is open port 25565.

How do you go into your own server?

If it's on the same computer you're running Minecraft on, then 127.0.0.1. If it's on some other computer on the LAN, then it's LAN IP.
Also, make sure to use the LAN IP of your server in the server.properties file where it asks for an IP, not the WAN IP.

Where it says server ip put your computer's LAN ip

No, leave it blank.

Open the Start Menu
Click Run
Type in "cmd" without the quotes
Click OK
Type in "ipconfig" without the quotes
On the line that says IP address it shows the IP address for your computer
Type that into the server.properties file, on the "server-ip=" line

Unless you've given your computer a static IP address in your LAN network, then the next time your IP changes it will no longer work.
To give yourself a static LAN IP:
Right-click on My Network Places
Select Properties
Right-click Local Area Connection
Select Properties
Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Click Use the Following IP address
Enter IP address


To mess with ports, go here.
And if you don't know the password to your router to forward the port to your computer then you're screwed.
Minecraft uses the port 25565.

You should be set to run a server if you went through all of the steps.

Whitty, if you're able to, you might want to restart the server. It's trying to crunch through sending 123468 requests...

I say we don't let people with numbers in their names play.

It sure would be easier for me if there wasn't anybody with a string of more than 4 numbers after their name...
