how do i enter the server

You can't at the moment, at least last I knew. Whitty's server isn't accepting external connections, and Notch isn't around to troubleshoot or whatever he does.

Quick Question What is Minecraft? i had a few looks and found very little so , what is it?

Simple game really. You are a miner dude, dumped into a world of meter cubed blocks of various materials. If you're playing Creative, you have magical powers to summon every block known to you and delete them just as fast as you place them. If you're playing Survival, you have been dropped into a land at times hostile and at others peaceful, where you must collect materials to endure the hostile times. Craft tools and furniture items for your hut/castle/fortress and mine deep into the earth in your search for valuable coal, iron, gold, and diamond to further your home's equipment and style.

Open world construction rpg? Yeah, I guess that suits minecraft well enough.

Footsteps and caves still creep me the hell out.

In Minecraft, you Mine minerals and Craft tools to aid you.

Also, I had a dream snippet i was going down an endless, winding cave in minecraft. There was tons of valuable minerals, however, so everyhing went better than expected.

The Seecret Friday part ended up being extremely tiny this time around, but that’s because I made sure to add this:

+ Added server-side inventory
+ Made the server save player locations when they leave the server
+ Made chests work in SMP
+ Made signs work in SMP
+ Made furnaces work in SMP
+ Added monsters=false to server.properties. You can turn it on for experimental monsters, but you can’t hurt them directly yet. (Fire works, though!)

But this is NOT SECURE YET! I decided to just focus on making it functional first so I actually got it out.

I’ll work on inventory security and server-side health management next week. Server-side health means you’ll be able to fight monsters and perhaps even other players.

Oh. My. Dog. I need to invest in a better server solution RIGHT AWAY, like next week! Please be patient while the server tries to keep up with sending out all the updated clients!
