Post Re: Battlefield 3
1) Have you played previous Battlefield installments, especially Battlefield: Bad Company 2? If yes, did you enjoy them? If yes, you will enjoy Battlefield 3 very much.
2) Have you played previous Ghost Recon installments? If yes, did you enjoy them? If yes, you'll likely enjoy Future Soldier.
3) How important is multiplayer to you? If you're looking for a good experience and lots of playtime, you'll enjoy Battlefield 3. If you're more of a singleplayer guy, Battlefield 3's campaign is not particularly amazing, but the gameplay is still fun.
4) How important are graphics, animation, and sound quality to you? Battlefield 3 blows Ghost Recon out of the water one all three.
5) Do you prefer tactical gameplay or more traditional shooter mechanics? If the former, Ghost Recon will likely be more enjoyable; if the latter, Battlefield 3.

Besides doing research, if at all possible, you should try to play each game or at least demos of each game to get an idea of how each game *feels*- that's something you can't pick up from reading reviews and watching gameplay videos.

If you're on PC, yes, do this.

Like the new guns in close quarters, MTAR21 has quite a nice kick to it.

So old news, but the AN94 is so overpowered it's broken.

What? It does the same damage as all the other ARs, but has the highest recoil and lowest rate of fire. Its only redeeming factor is that the 2-round burst is pretty accurate even at long ranges, but at those ranges you're looking at 6 to 7 consecutive hits for a kill.

Post patch, that burst is 1200 rpm. So yeah, that's almost a full quarter faster than the famas/f2k.

Oh, I hadn't used it post-patch. Neat! I liked it a lot in Bad Company 2, but pre-patch in BF3 it was garbage.
