I started this game, its AWESOME.
Check out capnduck's tutorial videos in youtube, they helped me a lot.
Although, something's screwy. I made a zone for garbage and designated some stones to be dumped, but they are not dumped, one season later!

designate the zone with i, then scroll change the zone's settings to make it a garbage dump, then dump the stones. it's likely you havent done the middle step, though I prefer stone stockpiles anyway.

Until the new version you'll just have to forbid every sword except the one you want him to equip before telling him to equip it and making sure nobody else wants a sword also. Same goes for each other weapon.

I mean that, they just won't pick up ANY weapons AT ALL! They just play wrestlers :-(

Oh.
In that case, check they haven't got anything in their hands already from wrestling practice.

Nope, they haven't.

Just tell me all the way how to tell them to be a swordsman.

M > w > Select Swd
Also, on the Z screen, make sure the short swords are all not forbidden.
It could be that the swords are already marked for hauling, in which case you'll have to wait until they get stockpiled before your Swordswrestlers will pick them up.

V over them, and then hit G to see their skills. They should have a small amount of Sword skill, with a higher amount of Wrestler.
If it has Sword in one of the hands, then they will be using it. But it only really works if all your troops in a squad are using swords, as they will grapple if they are grappled by a wrestler.

Well, now they won't store items in the stockpile i tell them to.

They are not being used in a construction, workshop, they are claimed and not marked to be dumped.
They just won't take them there where i order them to!

Have you forbidden the items in other stockpiles?

Wha?

What other stockpiles?

I mean... I have a few rocks in the way of my wall construction. The stockpile is the only stone stockpile.

Also it doesn't matter what rock it is. It's like that stockpile wouldn't even exist! They just ignore it.
