Re: Duh102's Minecraft server
Please don't do that Ignis. I may have to intervene if you mess with other people's things. In other news, there's ANOTHER open source server project, this time in C++. Like Opencraft, MinerCPP does not save the map yet, but it's being updated every day while Opencraft has not had an update for more than a week (way to let me down Opencraft...) Physics also do not work yet, but you can place water and lava through the console, as well as a console /me that works just like !me, but without the whole !me eats a sandwich Duh102 eats a sandwichIn chat, instead, you only see Duh102 eats a sandwichScreenshot of lava/water

I still think that Opencraft looks better. Physics for fluid blocks is an important part of MC. Also, Duh102 wrote: Duh102 eats a sandwich
Sure thing, Barry. (Inside joke. Don't try to understand.)

Re: Duh102's Minecraft server
MinerCPP will have all the official server's features eventually, as Opencraft will, but neither is a good candidate for transferring yet because they cannot save or load maps. MinerCPP may win the race though, because as I said they update every day (sometimes multiple times per day) while Opencraft hasn't updated since the 19th. Either case, when one of them has all the features of the offical server software, I'm jumping ship onto them. Both of them already have features that OfSS do not, either with /me or /brush. Opencraft has the whole block physics on a different thread thing, MinerCPP takes a measly 2MB of memory. Yeah you heard right, 2MB.

Re: Duh102's Minecraft server
For a short time only (IE, until tomorrow morning at 5am, as usual) you can test out MinerCPP. /help is actually useful this time around. EDIT: Scratch that, it doesn't even keep map data between players. EDIT2: Ohai, map loading and saving from MinerCPP. And yet another server project, DFCS, which is closer to completion than either of them, and has SERVER SIDE SCRIPTING TO ♥♥♥♥ BOOT. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT ITS SET TO RELEASE TODAAAAAAAAY So anyway, here's a screen of a map (loaded in MinerCPP) I probably won't use for DuhDRL until I make the islands not as flat. Anybody have suggestions on how to do that, or would you guys consider a community terraforming project? (map isocraft. Yeah, it's quite flat)

Re: Duh102's Minecraft server
I wouldn't really mind, since I usually terraform any island I live on anyway.

Re: Duh102's Minecraft server
Oh deity, this image has made me NEED inverted stepped pyramids in the floating islands map. NEED. Going to make them in OMEN, too bad sand has physics, otherwise I'd use that. Maybe I can make special nonphysics sand later.
