Re: D&D and such
Also apparently now I'm the DM? Give me a week for preparations and ♥♥♥♥. At least. I'll update Thursday with how far I've gotten and if I'll be ready by the weekend. If I'm ready, we'll be playing on Saturday, at about 4 PM Eastern Standard Time, or 9 GMT.

Re: D&D and such
Not what I said. I meant that I wanted you to DM your own campaign next session and we'd switch off.

Re: D&D and such
But that's kind of annoying. I'd prefer to have one campaign. PC or DM, Asp, pick one.

Re: D&D and such
Too much hassle and it'd be annoying switching from DM to player and back again.

Re: D&D and such
Me and some friends have decided to try D&D (or something similar) and I have one question... well actually I have allot of questions but this one is prudent.
When the PCs are traveling from A to B, maybe on a quest or just for the hell of it...
1. Do we have to go round turn after turn imaging our character moving 20 or so feet and 2. Do I (as the DM/GM) have to draw a map or have a description for every 20 or so feet... 3. When you're playing a table top game, do you "fast travel," or stick it out
I'm sure its something that needs experience but I'm just by-curious... I mean curious *pause for laughter*

Re: D&D and such
You only use combat style traveling when in combat or otherwise necessary. When you are just going between cities or whatever you don't bother.

Re: D&D and such
"At some point and time, you encounter x and y." Otherwise fast travel.

Re: D&D and such
I once had a DM give my group 5 random encounters in one patch of forest.
My dwarven paladin almost died.
