Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
There was another way to go further down that didn't involve the deathhole I showed last post, so I took it... and got here. So my caves are pretty silly. There's a huge area like this, with tons of magma and waterfalls, all of which are placed in the optimal way to get me killed. I also got lost, way down there, for several days, somehow a creeper got in, but I took care of it with my bow, then a skeleton showed up, and I couldn't see him so I ran around until he fell off a cliff, I assume he ended up in magma eventually. After a while of wandering around, occasionally stopping to make another stack of 64 torches, and once to put down my mobile workbench and make more picks, I decided I needed to get the hell out of there. I wandered for a long time trying to remember how in the name of Notch I ended up in that bad acid trip cave, when I found a massive vertical shaft, and started carving a spiral stairway up it's walls. When I got to the top, I broke a thin wall with my staircase-digging, and what did I find on the other side? The hole to infinity. In fact, when I first started the staircase, I broke into the room at the bottom of that hole, but didn't look up, so I didn't notice the three torches.

I really need to start exploring caves, I've only gotten small ones so far (like the little loop in the current succession map). Also, if anyone wants I have wrappers for in(f)dev so you can play it outside of a browser. It still requires login so it's not warez, just like the WoM client. In fact they just be edits of the WoM client. EDIT: Added to OP.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
I think I want to play a game where I never settle down, so all my stuff must fit inside my inventory. Only things I would leave behind me are chopped trees, torches, and signs.
See how far I can get from the spawn, using the mapper to show my progress.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Yesterday I was pining for a barren and perhaps volcanic wasteland in which to build a series of huge greenhouses full of trees and flowers and fountains.
Just because it would look cool. I suppose I could get like 800 gravel, a half dozen buckets of magma, and find a smallish island to turn into such a place.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
too bad track doesn't lay across half-height blocks (yet)
that'll kinda make pushing a cart up a ten mile long spiral staircase a harrowing proposition

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
At the moment I just build the track alongside the stairs and walk in between them.
Also: Smoothly falling sand/gravel! Just looks pretty at the moment, you can't ride it.
