I will, in the meantime I'm gonna experiment with mixing black with chainmail to get a darker tone and I will get rid of the blood, I forget what I was trying to accomplish with that.

I can kind of see a pretty cheap predator right here.

Pretty cool, might be a bit small, and you have to add sponsons, but otherwise a nice replacement, have fun 40k-ing that thing up.

The 1:35's are usually pretty close in size to the "heroic" 26mm that games workshop uses. At least for the regular marines, you can pretty much forget about getting a mk1 british tank and calling it a land raider.

And here's some death korps of krieg. Saw them at our lgs today and they look pretty god damned awesome for their price.

Does anyone else think dreadknights are both visually and conceptually retarded? They look unfitting for 40k and the very idea of power armour within power armour baffles the mind.

Pretty much everyone does. Not in the sense of what the model represents, but more in the aesthetic field. It could be pulled off if they took the contemptor, made it a bit bulkier with some hatches and the likes and called that the dreadknight.

But as it stands it's completely ridiculous, even in 40k standards.

The dreadknight is ugly. So far, it's the only model in WH40K that I've disliked.

They are some models that I'm not to fond of but so far this model is the only one that actively sits on the left end of the hate-love scale for me as well. It seems to try to be cool and unique, the other bipeds you see in service of the imperium are cool because at their most basic level they are function over form (to the extent that walking tanks can be function over form), while the dreadknight, by default leaves it's operator not only exposed, but actually protecting the vehicle itself.

Maybe we'll get an even bigger -knight for D-noughts to climb into next?

I've basically completed my first 10 orks(will upload some pics a soon as I find the gull-durn camera) and I'm wondering, how should I expand my army next, I'm thinking of a Dredd, Trukk or some heavy infantry of some sort, suggestions on what to get next?
