Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
It's too much of a pain for most people to navigate my map if they die, but if your interested, heres the path i take. The sand pit is where i respawn.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
New renovations! Look at our humble beacon! It's covered in torches so you can see it at night! But you wont need it for when you die, no, you'll need it when you go shopping down trees or adventuring! Look at where our spawn point is! On the very same island as the house! If that wasn't enough, we've added new items to our care package! However, we left some iron in the furnace that hasn't been added to the chest yet. Including what is in the picture, we have 58 iron!

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
hey guys I just started a map
I have over 70 iron (as yet, unsmelted), 55+ coal, shittons of trees, and I've got two caverns through a chunky island-hill that I'm converting into a quite functional living space with a tree garden on the roof
do I win
oh, and my first mine terminated into a symmetrical, beautiful natural cavern

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
I would have offered up my save, featuring a two-house complex connected via tunnel, one of which connects into an expansive cave network that I have used at least 150 torches on and counting.
I've seen enough coal and iron to build and fuel a solid iron jacuzzi, and some gold, and some magma.
I'm also lost at the bottom of the pit with the magma, and might not have enough picks and resources to get back out, as I jumped down a few spaces that I can't just jump back up.
Even if I do get out of the pit where the magma is, I am still deep within the caves.
So unless the next person (and the person after that until they get out) fancy spending their turn rationing wood and trying to backtrack my torchlit paths to the houses, it's not acceptable for this.
EDIT : Actually, I could probably build an entire house or something out of all the iron I have seen, seriously.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Yeah, I realized after I posted that people might like it if I start uploading saves of the stupid positions I get myself into underground.
Edit : Died, went a different way (right at the entrance to the caves I went one way and left the other completely unexplored)
Died again, went back and got the stuff (I had used all my coal and stone and wood so I had to set out with nothing), currently torching up some magma chambers.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Okay I think I am not lost. On the other hand, I know that I only have like 30 something iron back home. And all the planks I have are the 38 with me, and I just ran out of torches. I have 8 or 9 picks with me though.
I might try and extract a few loads of iron, coal, and maybe some gold from the caves as I work my way out. Then I will throw everything into smelters and lumberjack for a few days.
Then I descend into the caves of madness and ohgodwhereamIamIlost*GRUE*

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Oh man, I stumbled into a cave complex yesterday and I haven't gotten out of it yet. It's a lot of those spiralling downward huuge holes inside the caves

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
I'm making a beginning save, since you guys are so hotly contesting it that nobody can decide. It should be available within the next three hours.

If so, would you kindly sign me up for the first available spot? This whole new version thing has got me playing Minecraft again.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
New update again, featuring more complex caves, surface springs of both types, gravel and dirt in caves, etc etc.
Despite yesterdays save having 200+ iron and tons of coal, along with 50-something gold, I am moving on and starting anew.
if anyone wants it, I will upload it, but the mines are exceedingly complex, and there's a sign labeling them as a Water Hazard, right next to a wall of sand and dirt holding the ocean at bay. Pretty much any dirt in my map is to be considered holding back water on the first couple areas of the caves.
