Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
Wii version is all around terrible, whatevs.
I heard they're taking out the Sleight of Hand Pro effect for snipers, which I felt changed the game a great deal. Are there any quickscopers here? I'm kind of disappointed, quickscoping was a really nice way of playing the game, among the several that makes MW2 so replayable.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
With today's hefty console price tags for new games being a 60 dollar standard, and very few of those featuring a worthy replay value, I actually purchase very few new games.
This will not be one of those few.
The last game I actually bought was Starcraft 2, and even that turned out to really just be Starcraft 1 with a new, shiny paint job at the cost of a worse Battle.net, no LAN, horrible Custom Map interface and a more expensive storyline with it being split across 3 titles.
It's safe to say I expected more out of a sequel that Blizzard had 12 years to make.

I love Starcraft 2. You named all these things that you thought weren't good, but you missed the most important thing about it. The competitive 1v1. That's like, the whole game. At least for me.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
I am fairly sure current game control systems are more different than a real gun due to reasons apart from lack of recoil.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
Most CoD guns have a lot more recoil than their real counterparts would generate being braced by a full grown man.

Hey at least they don't give the RPGs recoil. But yeah, you can pretty much pin that down to gameplay considerations.

No recoil. Can't turn and shoot. YOU CAN DIE AND BE RETURNED TO LIFE!
Don't even BEGIN to complain about realism.

He was specifically referring to the control system, but okay.

Clearly the better superficial quality leads to greater immersion. Then again, PS3 is doing the whole "lol we got 3D games thing" which is obviously even more immersible, but the cost of a 3D TV and whatnot kind of sandbag that concept. Still. 411570N3 wrote: Hey at least they don't give the RPGs recoil. But yeah, you can pretty much pin that down to gameplay considerations. Don't most rocket/RPG launchers have negligible recoil anyways? Seems like that would be the obvious way to go.

That sounds like elitist talk to me! Whatever, your point still stands, it is impossible to deny the difference in quality. HOWEVER, 1 in 4 homes has a wii, whilst less than 1 in 20 has a 360 and the number for the PS3 in even smaller. [This is a UK statistic.]PS3 wins on quality. XBOX wins on being in the middle. WII wins on popularity. CoD 7 wins on so many levels. In the end, is it not the game/devs who decide the graphical level anyway? Half of the game companies around don't maximise on their quality anyway, for any console. I feel [so far] that Treyarch have indeed worked hard to bring good graphics to everyone, which is unusual. It requires skill [for skill read: money] to bring out what is effectively the same game on at least 3 consoles, not including handhelds or the PC. Sorry for the rant.
