Re: Battlefield 3
Mag running dry. Should probably just use it more often so I get extended mags.

Well yeah you'll never have problems with that again when you get 40(+1) bullets in the mag.

Re: Battlefield 3
I don't know if I mentioned this but I'm kind of disappointed that the only .50 caliber sniper rifle was in the campaign. The M98B online is a .338 magnum, which is good enough for busting skulls through trees, but not quite good enough for smashing through concrete and blowing off somebody's leg.

Re: Battlefield 3
I like hardcore mode. Sniper rifles are so much better, where they're almost always one-hit-kills. Also, I really like the UMP-45. That may be because I've unlocked all the attachments though, and most every gun can be OK if you have an IRNV.

On the subject of great guns: The m249 with a silencer and IRNV, run into a group of enemies and start spewing lead into them without stopping or being seen. Even better near smoke.

Re: Battlefield 3
Just had an awesome Rush game on Noshahr. Assault, Saiga 12, .44 magnum and M320 for long-range support. Ended up MVP etc. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/ba ... 180532291/Miggles wrote: I like hardcore mode. Sniper rifles are so much better, where they're almost always one-hit-kills. Headshots are alright because they take quite a degree of skill and luck to do at long ranges on moving targets, but killing someone in one hit across the map by hitting their pinkie is stupid.

Re: Battlefield 3
The fact that everything else is super deadly makes up for it I think. Sure you could go around murdering everything with your super sniper, but even if you do you're gonna get murdered. So in a sense hardcore mode is more 'realistic' because bullets actually ♥♥♥♥ you up, but even more so because you can't run around like an idiot.

Re: Battlefield 3
No, hardcore is far from realistic.
A single bullet in your leg would ♥♥♥♥ you up for the rest of the match, suddenly nobody's wearing bulletproof armor either. Also no bleeding.
The dumbest argument for playing hardcore by far is it being more realistic.

Re: Battlefield 3
I like how you didn't see the air quotes around realistic.
I just had an awesome match where me and some dude stayed in a tank the whole time. We kept capping points and we ♥♥♥♥ up the enemy team. In total I got 16985 experience after all the ribbons and ♥♥♥♥. I also got a medal.

Re: Battlefield 3
I have found the ultimatum of trollery and easy pickings.
Step 1. Play TDM on Metro or Seine. (hardcore optional but not recommended) Step 2. Make sure you use the server browser and select a match with only 5-7 players Step 3. Recon w/ shotgun of your choosing, semi or full auto recommended Step 4. Get at the top of one of the stair wells in the main buildings (preferably the one that houses MCOM A in Rush on Metro) Step 5. Place T-UGS and Spawn Beacon Step 6. Kill various players near your little hub, this will probably engage vendetta mode Step 7. Once vendetta mode is engaged, enemy players will probably just walk straight into the main entrance at ground level. The T-UGS is essential for knowing the location of enemies. If an enemy goes around the back entrance and through the second level floor, make sure you kill them first. Step 8. lods of skor
Just unlocked my M40 doing this, soon to get the M98. Great for getting a LOT of score fast, although it is kind of cheap.

Re: Battlefield 3
My friend (aka my only way to play BF3) doesn't have the glorious M39 unlocked yet, but I found the SKS with a silencer, foregrip, and 4x ACOG to be satisfactory. It has a nice battle rifle feel to it, recoil is acceptable (though it may take a bit of getting used to), and kills can be acquired in 2-3 body shots, oh, and 21 bullets to a magazine. Big thumbs up for me.
The Bizon (PP-19) is alright. I wish they'd used the 64 round helical magazine, like they did in MGS4, but 55 is nothing to laugh at. It's got fairly good accuracy and a high fire rate, though naturally the recoil makes it not the best choice for long-range engagements, and the fact that it has so much more ammo than most SMGs (like the PP2000) is fantastic for engaging multiple opponents within a short time period.
M240B is my new favorite LMG. It can put a lot of rounds down range with reasonable accuracy, and even though it doesn't fire as fast or have as many bullets per magazine as the M249, it makes up for it with the increased accuracy. Slap a bipod or foregrip on there with an ACOG and you've got a pretty nice SAW. I've tried most of the LMGs, but I have yet to use the M60. The M249 is still absolute rape at short range, though. All you need to do is point it in the general direction of a nearby enemy.
Last night I had the joy of playing Conquest on Kharg Island as the US team. Two squadmates and I were trying to cap a flag when one of them got taken out by a tank, prompting us to employ some choice swear words while we swarmed for cover, and then the fourth squadmate (in a jet) goes "NO WORRIES GUYS, I GOT THIS!" At this point he starts singing the America theme song from Team America, so the next thing we hear is "AMERICA! ♥♥♥♥ YEAH! COMING AGAIN TO SAVE THE ♥♥♥♥ DAY YEAH!" followed by an F/A-18 Super Hornet suicide-bombing a T-90.

Re: Battlefield 3
I never get to have good squad play with my team. Nobody uses a mic, and if they do it's just static or background noise. At which point I attempt to mute them and it fails because ♥♥♥♥ DICE doesn't know how to add a proper mute system to their game.
What sucks is that all of my friends are CoDfags, and they don't own BF3 so I can't play with them unless they come over.

Re: Battlefield 3
I usually don't have awesome experiences with pugs either, and very few that I encounter have mics, but Bad Company 2 was just endless barrels of awesome when I played with a squad made up entirely of friends.
