Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server The problem is that running a server is hard, and you're assuming it isn't. Duh has to manage Duhforum, watch an IRC channel, administrate this Minecraft server, moderate DRL, help people out with whatever ♥♥♥♥ they need helping out with, AND do college.
I don't know about all of you, but I sure as hell couldn't handle all that. Hell, I could barely stand being a mod on a Gmod server. Cut Duh some slack. |

Re: Minecraft Survival Multiplayer Server A fair point, but honestly, can it be that hard installing two plugins? As far as I've understood it's more of a "cba" kind of thing than a "I'M UP TO MY TITS IN OBLIGATIONS AND I HAVE CLOSE TO NO FREE TIME AS IT IS, GTFO" situation.
If it's the latter, obviously, we could live without them. But we would like to have them. ...very much.  |

Find a plugin that fits your description (depending, between five minutes and three hours) 2. Change all the permissions to accomodate the new plugin (depending on what kind of plugin, again five minutes to three hours) 3. Test in on the server (usually little time) 4. Every update, check bukkit's website every three hours waiting for an update 5. All the other tasks of keeping the server all clean, which includes cleaning up after Whitty and weathering the bitchstorm when I don't have a backup recent enough. When I was running full tilt, I often spent a good five hours sitting in front of my computer JUST fixing up WhittySMP. |
