Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
For some reason, I was never too good at MW2's multiplayer. I tended to run into the open too often without looking :v ...which is why I've since turned to MGS4's online mode, where you can freely exploit the third person camera to set up traps and stealthy CQC grabs in short range while using the FPS mode for accuracy. The best of both worlds! Plus, there's the whole "being able to fire yourself off a catapult" thing. Always fun.

Also, rereading some of the first page, it seems that the general opinion is that the original Modern Warfare is less crazy than the second. Why is that the general opinion? In the first game, you get to fly in a chopper back into a nuclear explosion, to save a pilot solely because she's female. (that is obviously it, as your 'friendly' marine buddies always seemed to ooh-rah as the other heli's went down.) Sure, it didn't help the suspension of dis-belief when I fired the majority of a belt of grenades into the wreckage, but still. And don't get me started on the mission where you crawl maybe two feet away from an entire Russian patrol. Staying still? Maybe. CRAWLING PAST THEIR FEET? I guess MW2 was just crazy enough for me to actually enjoy it, rather than face-palming over how unlikely and incredibly ♥♥♥♥ retarded everything is. But am I the only person who feels this way?

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
CoD4 is overrated. People pretend MW2 is full of problems and imbalance and CoD4 was perfect, but it isn't so.
Personally, I find MW2 to be amazing. Also, don't look at any of the classes in this thread. Everyone, especially me, had no idea what they were talking about.
I found MGO to be terribad. It had lots of cool toys, it gets A+++ in that department, but the actual gameplay kinda sucked.
Edit: You see Mr.<3? Yeah that's me every game. I usually get a rad score but am the only one to go positive on my team. -_-

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
So, your complaits are that you glitched the ghillie mission and that the developers didn't anticipated players blowing up a mission objective? Yes CoD 4 was silly. But it was far from over the top like MW2, which I disliked in singleplayer but was alright in multiplayer.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I didn't glitch the ghillie mission, or not on purpose at least. I thought you were meant to crawl through them?
Also, the whole flying back into the nuclear explosion zone was stupid regardless; if I recall, you had already been told that it would go off in a minute or so.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I think the point of most of the american missions in CoD 4 is to show how incompetent they are. But yes, I do agree that it was kinda stupid to go back to the blast zone. I was never able to move while getting through the enemy collumn.

Oh, that might be a difficulty thing, actually. I was playing on Veteran until I got massively pissed off at the respawning enemies early on, and then switched to easy for the rest of the game.
That was probably one of my favourite things about MW2; no respawning enemies. I played the entire campaign in 7 hours on Veteran without hitting too many snags.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
MW2 might be better than MW1, but MW1 has mod support and dedicated servers, which helps a lot.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I can't really enjoy the original's multiplayer, I've been spawned in under airstrikes/in front of bullets/next to grenades far too many times. While it's still somewhat of a problem in MW2, I find it isn't nearly as bad.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Everyone knows CoD campaigns are just glorified tutorials. I meant the imbalance of the perks, how Juggernaut made Stopping Power a must, despite the many players who would not use it out of honour. The other perks were workable, but you didn't see the diversity you see in MW2. Juggernaut made sniping a pain as well. I never knew about the M40 with ACOG glitch, but that's a dumb glitch anyways.
Grenades. Honestly, if there was a guy in a building across the map, I'd rather have a grenade than a sniper rifle. ♥♥♥♥ was ridiculous and everyone knows it. Spawn grenades, yeah, but really it was just the ease with which you could take people out in a normal setting. I, and I'm sure many others, got to the point where we could kill someone with a grenade based on our radar. It was like noobtubes except you don't have to equip it and everyone gets one.
Shipment. Headquarters, or really anything but especially Headquarters on this map was awful. Everyone would put on 3 Grenades and Martyrdom (myself included) and fling each of the three grenades into the corners which they were not spawning in. They would soon die to a grenade, which would of course make them drop another grenade upon death.
I mean won't argue that CoD4 is bad, it certainly had some things I wish MW2 had, like sway for all guns and the overall balance was better- but this is due to the more homogeneous nature of it. MW2 has dumb stuff like Commando and One Man Army, but all these combinations make the game more fun, at least to me.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Nobody mentioned that they took away golden guns in MW2. They would have been so much more of a trophy if gotten. Also Shipment never shows up in online, or at least not in TDM/FFA.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I agree, the game would be a lot better if they disabled grenades or at least nerfed them somehow. I have to say though that 40 man shipment was fun every now and again.

In the second game: You drive a tiny inflatable boat down a series of raging rapids and waterfalls until your miraculously unaged compatriot takes down an armored helicopter with a single shot from a sniper rifle WHILE ON THE SAME BOAT GOING DOWN THE SAME RAPIDS as before. At which point both you, your immortal compadre and the nefarious big bad survive the plane crash and are in good enough shape to start a fistfight, which is only ended when you pull a knife out of your own chest and throw it into the big bad's faceAnd don't forget, your immortal companion is also the same man who breaks into a nuclear submarine on an active military base in a heightened state of alert, singlehandedly reconfigures and then launches a MRBM to a perfectly-calculated airburst over Washington DC, conveniently ruining the advance of the invasion by the country he's currently occupying.

Yeah. I didn't understand what he meant by "Steady", so it took him four or five shots. And kinetic force doesn't travel through space, does it? Also, Price is really invincible. I've seen him go 1v1 with some striker weilding dude. BOOM falls down...gets up BOOM falls down... gets up BOOM falls down...
