DTP wrote: This game is really not worth the money. I mean its fun an' all but its soo damn short. The only good parts are the finales which are quite epic. There's not really any story or any cutscenes linking it together ect. Verses mode is ok, if your playing as infected that is. it was a good rent though But i guess you pc guys will have more to do :\ You've kinda missed the point. Completing a campaign once doesn't mean you've completed it, it's all about multiplayer replayability, that's why the director was implemented to randomise gameplay. It's not about story either, TF2 doesn't have a story, but you don't say you've completed it when you've played on all the maps. Versus is still very fun as survivors, there's a much greater sense of urgency, you have to move fast or you'll be taken to pieces by a coordinated team. But yeah, extra campaigns over time will be pretty rad. Go PC.

Re: Left 4 Dead
You have defended this game with great valour lord TrouserDemon. But I fear you must let it rest, as some people out there will obviously not like the game for some reason or another.
Fools!

Re: Left 4 Dead
Even with the obvious replayability, playing 4 different campaigns gets old fast.

sv_cheats 1 is fun.
The "scorched earth" policy didn't really work out though.

Re: Left 4 Dead
Did you know that if you z_spawn a boss zombie while on the infected team you immediately gain control of it? This works for everything but common infected and witches. Also infinite pills is pretty cool because I get to pretend I'm Max Payne. Trouserdemon wrote: The "scorched earth" policy didn't really work out though. It would've worked if the tank didn't sneak up behind us, man. You need to believe in the power of petrol.

Re: Left 4 Dead
My friend said he could cheat anytime he wants and spawn loads of zombies and contoll them and stuff during multiplayer. Is he bullshitting, or is the pc version that awesome?

If he's hosting, or the server uses the default rcon password, then yes, it's entirely possible.

Re: Left 4 Dead
It would have been good if you could pour the petrol, make flame rings around you and stuff.
I assume Vavle tried it, but it didn't work.

Re: Left 4 Dead
That's what I was hoping for. Maybe they'll figure out a way since the fire seemingly propogates.

Or it will be modded in. If that's even possible, fill me in TD.

Re: Left 4 Dead
A whole bunch of player-made campaigns are in the works already. I'm looking forward to the Dawn of the Dead mall map myself.
Regarding first party content, it'll be something like TF2, with the very best player made maps tweaked and made official, and a few new maps from valve themselves.
As for fire... not sure. I suppose you could mod it so when you click to throw a petrol can, it drops it and it instantly smashes with an incredibly small fire radius, and a new petrol can instantly spawns in your hand. That's the closest you could get it just with console commands, actual mods might do it.

Re: Left 4 Dead
I love this game too, i got a cracked version that i played like two weeks or so, and it left me with nuthin' else than fudge virus rush... I hope i get some cash to buy this :3
Left 4 dead CC would be too awesome for me to handle, combining two of my all-time favourite games. :F
Still, i think that CC wouldn't have the same feeling of rushing into a sarm of rabies victims with a pump-action shotgun. and shortly after: being mauled to death
