Serene Coast (I believe that's the name) is easy to win if you start at the south. There are plenty of ambush points around the train, and plenty of cover. I haven't played the other two new maps yet though.

Clans != Platoons.

Platoons are groups of up to 3 guys joining public matches, it's a fancy name for 'party'.

We can also form a tank company if you like, but that's still not a clan. Just a bigger team fighting against another team of similar strength, the victor gaining the majority of the credits and experience.

It's not hard to get to a tier 5 vehicle, which is the tier we generally play at.

Just find one you like and grind towards it, you can have it in less than a week.

Unless you can only play SPG, in which case you won't get higher than tier 2 in a month.

Tier 4 is generally the hardest, with tanks such as the M3 Grant, the T28, and the B1. The T28's actually pretty fun to play as, especially once you get the 85mm. It's surprisingly fast for its size. Right now I'm just trying to get the money for the Tier 5's I've already researched. After the KV-1, which should I get, the KV-2, T-150, or the KV-1S?

85mm for the T-28 was removed in the latest patch, but to compensate the next highest gun was buffed.

Also grinding SPGs is ♥♥♥♥ simple once you get the hang of it. I went from tier 1 to tier 4 in a week. Tier 5 is a bit of a grind but only because I actually started researching vehicle components before focusing on the next tier.

I'm stuck at two tier four vehicles. The Lee, and some German tank destroyer. It's such a pain to get enough XP for the Lee to do anything.

Haha yeah, I've got the M3 Lee right now and it seems to have too many tank tree options. But I'm just going to work towards the Sherman, maybe the T1 later, I'm working on the American arty line as well so I don't have to go through the M3's arty upgrade.

Still don't enjoy the game, though. Not enough thinking for my tastes, I prefer grand strategies and 4x's

I sometimes find there is strategy, at least using certain vantage points to your advantage and such
But I do enjoy the silly times, though I just had a match where we were doing well, and me (as the PzIII) and a KV-1 had almost killed a heavy tank, but I pushed my luck in an effort to get the kill, alerting him to my presence, where my measley gun just couldn't take down the last bit of his health before he annihilated me.

Maybe we should get a Mechwarrior online clan going? Then both EU and US forumites could play ^^
