The low tier arty that will make you love arty is the SU-26. I'm now 3 vehicles ahead of it and it remains my favourite artillery piece in the entire game. The ease of use, with the fully rotating turret (used to be a unique feature for artillery, and only recently the french tier *8* also received a rotating turret) is just ridiculous, and it does great damage for its tier. The only short coming is its low range.

I also highly recommend the DAR sight for all SPG players, and learn to double tap V since the gun traverse indicator is currently broken and you need to do that to turn it on. It will allow you far greater control over your vehicle since you will know exactly how far you can aim without moving the chassis to accommodate and reset your aim.

I just love the SU-26. It's just so fun to play with because of the posts Dauss highlighted just now. I have a question though, is the 122mm cannon worth getting?

It adds to the reload time by quite a bit, and the regular (that is, the cheapest) rounds actually do LESS damage than the 76mm gun you were using prior. It has two sets of credits based ammo. The first does 150 damage and penetrates more armor than the 76mm gun while doing slightly less damage, and the second type of ammo penetrates more armor but does 270 damage. That's as much as the gold based ammo for the 122mm, just with less penetration. If you are going to use it, it's wise to invest in the bigger HE ammo. I certainly used it, even though I thought it was an ugly looking gun on the SU-26. The damage output was just insane.

Gentleman I give you, the Hummel. One of the fastest tier 5 SPG in game. Its speed is only 40km/h but it can traverse in incredible 32deg/s.
I has a incredibly accurate 150mm gun that can hit anything from one side of the map, to other. Similar soviet SU-8 SPG has problems with that.
It kick an incredible 950dmg.
The gun arc is 15deg left and 15deg right. Thats astonishing, cause you don't have to move your whole body to aim. Sadly, only SU-8 is worse because the american tier 5 and french has better gun traverse. But still, the accuracy is incredible.

I suggest you go for the german SPG. Its pretty badass. Also don't go via Grille and STPZ2 line. You will cry with Grille.
Also the Hummel leads to GW Panther, which has a limited rotational turret. And that makes it a REALLY dangerous tank.

GI at this time I would like to remind you that the SU-8 fires at a higher angle and can hit targets behind low cover that assume they are safe from my wrath.

Dauss, i would like to point out that i can hit from the other side of the map. And my shell flies faster.

Edit: I have tremendous respect towards SU-8. That arty is a BEAST. But i like my Hummel more ;3

And after the hummel is a EVEN better beast, the dracula Gwpanther, my favorite, HUGE horizontal arc, good gun, still fast (but not quite as fast as the hummel) and makes credits.

After that one is the GW Tiger wich was about as pleasurable as a colony of rabid dungbeetles in your pants. Good gun though if you hit, your next chance is in 33sec.

And last the GW Typ E (the latest "tank" in my armory) and it's like theGW Tiger, but better in every way. I even rammed a scout to death in it, it's surprisingly fast for a 100-t arty.

And the one and only mod for aiming and reloading indicator I STRONGLY recommend jimb0s mod.

Ya der vampir bist really awesume, one of the few "tanks" I'll never sell...

...

Make's me think if which tanks I'd never sell. Probably only Maus, PzIII, GWpanther now that I think of it. E-75 used to be there but It's so easy do damage it's engine now a days, so It's hanging loose in my garage...

Update 7.4 'review'
Really just the devs telling us about the new features

"The tier 7 [French] tank destroyers even have good armour"
Unlike most of the other tiers ;)

Hey, anyone desiring a canned victory, the Type 59 (Also known as the "why the ♥♥♥♥ am I fighting 5 of these things at once") completely fair and not overpowered Chinese medium tank is going back on sale in August, likely for 35 USD but the price is not confirmed.

I look forward to shooting you in the turret with my SPG and doing ♥♥♥♥ all damage.

Hey everyone has been absent for a little while on here, but if anyone is listening
Does anyone actually use HE rounds?
I have them equipped on a couple tanks as about 1/4 of my ammo but I rarely use it, I only try to equip them if I see someone out in the open with a clear hit, but it's too time consuming to change ammo in the middle of a firefight
