Re: Minecraft Up and Running
also, the uh, 300+MB download for sauer might put some people off, when you can pick up and play minecraft while you're browsing. obviously, sauer is more powerful and its fun to be able to shoot at each other on maps you've just built, but minecraft is more of a quick and dirty approach to the construction side of the fun.

Re: Minecraft Up and Running
Oh ♥♥♥♥ damn that's right: it's a browser game. That didn't even occur to me - it's so slick that I didn't think twice about comparing it to a downloadable game.
I retract my statement.

Also, I didn't get to get to my map today. I will try to take care of that as soon as possible, fellas.
What's the status? Someone get me some screenshots.

Well, we still have control of the THORistanian strategic water supply, I built a house-platform on the water, and a staircase up to the surface. That's all I know thats happened.

http://i36.tinypic.com/2rwlzbp.jpglinked for the sake of the margins. 1,1: some sort of glass and sponge creation 2,1: post-modernist concrete garden 1,2: a porous house thing. 2,2: we have our own undersea crossroads now 1,3: a floating construction, apparently of wood, stone and glass. 2,3: the overninethousandstep tower. apparently you guys have been busy without me.

Re: Minecraft Up and Running
methinks we need to make an actual wall rather than have a million sponge columns, though we should probably keep some sponge in the walls to prevent griefing/accidents

Re: Minecraft Up and Running
Actually it's kinda cool in our little atlantis now. I made all the walkways glass tunnels and removed most of the sponge columns; people are building nice little underwater bubbles of habitation. It's pretty pleasant. I vote for not nuking the water.

Re: Minecraft Up and Running
You're removing the water or resetting the map? Please don't reset it again, we've only started to recover again.
