Re: Sony NGP (AKA PSP2)
Sony doesn't set the retail prices, they set the RRP which is just a recommendation. Not saying it won't be that cheap, just that I'm sceptical considering how pricey PS3s are.
Looks pretty cool I guess. I've always liked Nintendo's handhelds more though.

Re: Sony NGP (AKA PSP2)
I'll probably go for it. Don't know why, the 3DS just never appealed to me and the 3D just seemed gimmicky and I didn't get how it'd enhance the experience that much.
The one thing I noticed that they have going against it, though, is that during the demos there were occasional bits of framerates dropping a bunch.

I was less excited about the 3D aspect and more excited about the beefy GPU behind rendering the games like that. That plus MGS and Zelda.

Assuming you've played one before, how is the 3DS?
And that Ruin dungeon crawler looked pretty cool, but the guy mentioned 'social gaming' a bit too much.

I totally agree with Geti on this one. The 3DS is just a natural thing to get into. I really don't see the 3D as gimmicky, although I can see why you might think it is. For me it just makes the graphics look tons better.

Re: Sony NGP (AKA PSP2)
I think the 3DS will win out in popularity because Nintendo hits the casual gamer market pretty hard- that's why the Wii is the most popular next-gen console out there. Popularity doesn't necessarily mean that it'll end up being the "better" handheld, so to speak. The main thing I'm curious about for the NGP is if there will be any monthly costs to use the 3G/WiFi- it wouldn't exactly be a surprise, but man, if it turns out that there will be some variant with free internet, I won't even have to think about getting one of these babies. The main thing that's turned me away from smartphones is the fact that a lot of them have high monthly costs, sometimes easily more than $100 per month, and if it turned out that you would have to pay a steep monthly fee, I think that'd be a major turnoff for most gamers.
Then again, Sony has always had free internet services via PlayStation Network- I think it'll be more likely that they'll offer some sort of rudimentary, basic internet service for free (access to the PS store, some web browsing, etc) but will have a "PlayStation Plus"-esque service available for people who are willing to pay more for something extra; maybe faster download rates, cheaper games or mini-games to download from the store, and so forth.
Of course, this is all mostly speculation.

Re: Sony NGP (AKA PSP2)
I cant imagine Sony shouting anyone who buys an NGP free 3G coverage indefinitely.

Re: Sony NGP (AKA PSP2)
Nah, there's a data plan for the 3G version, but the WiFi one there's no fee. I don't know, lots of people are saying the 3DS is selling well but nobody I know has or knows someone who has a 3DS.

It hasn't really got any amazing launch titles, so I'd really wait quite a bit before judging it.

PSP2?
I barely have a PS2. And I keep playing with my PS. Why technology has to be so quick? And so expensive? ¬¬
