Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
I like the ability to mod things (PC gamer if anything) but I suppose if I'm going to play a game for the games sake I definitely want it to have a good amount of polish. I think having the ability to play user made content is a great thing for a game to have though; usermaps in N have kept it alive for years. I've never really been one to own or play lots of AAA titles though.
Ontopic, black ops looks like it could be good and all, but it'll just be more CoD. I'll play it at friends places probably but not own it ever because it really is just a polished FPS aimed at the mainstream console market. Sure, guns and 'splosions are cool and all, but its a little mindless, no?

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
Just raising a point here, please don't flame me.
I AM going to buy this, for one reason and one reason only. It will come out on Wii. I believe Treyarch/Activision are good in that sense. IW only released one game on Wii, and this will be Treyarch's second. In all other respects, I have to agree IW are better at making games.

Aim at screen, pull your trigger finger towards you? Seriously sakiskid, that's pretty naive.

Lizard ninja.
If it works like WaW did, then pointy at screen [point at edges to turn], B to shoot, nunchuck analogue stick to move, C to get up or crouch down, - for grenades...
They make it work, whatever they do.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
You have more control than with a joystick when oyu use a mouse or motion control, because then the motions doesn't pass through anything, but merely goes straight from your hand to the screen.
Also stfu ragdoll, only proper platform nowadays is pc and handhelds, because the consoles only lag behind in technology, wasn't quite as bad three years ago though.

Shush, no PC elitist assholery around here, please. Or for that matter, console elitist assholery.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
I don't mind consoles, in fact, I love them. Have a ps3 and a wii myself and getting Black Ops for ps3.
I bought WaW for ps3 and MW2 for pc, and I'm sincerely looking forwards to black ops. What I meant with less fancy n stuff is the simpler thermal scope and no heartbeat sensors. More balance in the game is good too.
Could you even dual weild the ballistic knives?

Theoretically, yes, it would be simple to do so, but Iunno if Trey will actually code that in.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
Have the pointer at the edge of the god damn screen. It's very simple really, allows for a fast AND realistic aiming kind.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
They made Call of Duty: Reflex Edition (based on 4, but terrible graphics) for Wii before they made the WaW one.
