Re: World of Tanks
I just signed up (2nd time) for the beta and awaiting a response from them, but can anyone recommend me a relatively fast tank, whilst still having a good cannon and armor?

Re: World of Tanks
Russian scout line. Or German scout line. Or American scout line.

Re: World of Tanks
I'd go specifically with the Russian Medium line. You wont feel like you're good until tier 6, but that's the same with most lines.

Re: World of Tanks
Russian medium line is pretty good. Relatively fast with most of their tanks, not too bad on cannons. T-34 is the first real Russian medium you'll play. It's very fun but it dies pretty quickly if you're stupid with your tactics. If you run in a pack you can take down King Tigers with ease. Russian medium line cancels out at T-54 which is currently considered the god of medium tanks. Rightfully so. It's terrifying. The Russian line stays enjoyable the whole way through, but they seem to have fire problems more often than others.
German mediums have thicker armor and decent cannons. I've heard they start of drastically slow. Correct me if I'm wrong someone, but I think the first honest medium in German line is PzIII/IV or PzIV, depending on which way you go. PzIII/IV is a little faster but hits a little worse and has thinner armor, where the PzIV is everything opposite. People generally tend to snipe with German mediums instead of brawling. Accurate guns.
American medium line is absolutely fantastic, EXCEPT for the Lee. Which is hardly a medium tank, anyways. More like a tank destroyer. The Sherman is gonna be your first real medium in this line, and what a blast it is. Not incredibly fast, but pretty maneuverable and it can hit respectably hard. Once again, traveling in packs prevents premature death. It only gets better from the Sherman, too. Easy 8 is good. T20 through Pershing is really really good. And as a plus, American mediums get access to the Vertical Stabilizer module at tier 6. Vert Stab reduces reticle spread by 20% while turning and turret traversing.

Re: World of Tanks
The German scout line branches off twice from the main battle tank line, so they tend to be slower. The American scout line can also be accessed via the M3 Stuart, bypassing the Lee. The M7 is the A20 and Leopard equivalent, and it is something of a middle-ground between them, whilst having greater view range.

Re: World of Tanks
O.K. Looks like I will go with the American line. It might be a while for me to play, because I submitted 2 days ago and I still have no response but the beta goes open on the 27th.

Re: World of Tanks
Looks like I will go with the American line. What makes it better is that I have a Perishing RC Tank. EDIT: Sorry, doublepost. Darn internet.

Don't play it like an FPS. Position and timing beats reflex almost every time.

Re: World of Tanks
Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork. The game is entirely intended to be played with cohesive teamwork tactics. Being a hero damn near never works out unless the entire enemy team is two tiers below you.

Re: World of Tanks
With good teamwork two loltraktors can render an IS7 incapacitated, even with the 9 tier gap. Even if you're the top tier tank on the team, being a hero isn't a good idea.
