Re: Let's Play! Morrowind
Well, the night is upon me.
I make a snap decision to take a Silt Strider to Vivec, and a direct overnight boat to Sadrith Mora from there.
In the morning, the boat has just arrived, and I get to see one of the famed cities of the Telvanni for the first time.
I gather these are magically grown, but I can't quite remember.
I head up to a building called the Gateway Inn.
The Altmer inside informs me that I need hospitality papers to get in, and also mentions work.
I surprise my self by inquiring further about the work, and purchasing the papers.
I surprise myself even more by accepting his work, even though I know precisely nothing of ghosts.
Still, the promise of valuable items sways me.
I decide to look for Arara Uvulas, but I first look around town.
I head to the market, and ignore the slaves on sale, and instead walk over to an armourer.
He has a full set of steel armour, which I buy, and he also has a steel claymore.
It's not loads better, but is definitely a worthwhile investment for the price.
An improvement, certainly, but still not perfect.
I realise that this is the first place that doesn't make me want to murder everyone.
This is something of a revelation.
I head into the council halls, and after a bit of bumbling around in the unintuitive mushroom building, I locate Arara Uvulas.
She tells me what I already know, but also that she thinks only a powerful conjurer could be the cause.
I ask around, and apparently the only person who teaches it is some woman at the Mages Guild.
That is fine by me, and I head down to Wolverine Hall to confront her.
I've been semi-considering joining the Great House Telvanni, but I don't have a lot of time to worry about that.
I arrive at the Mages Guild, and I meet her in a corner.
Questioning and a small bribe grease the gears of truth.
I head back to the guy at the Gateway Inn, and hand him the papers.
I think for a moment that I won't get a reward, but then he offers me a choice.
As I mull over which to take, I realise that I just solved a problem for someone else, without killing anyone or stealing anything.
Which ring should we accept as our reward?
Also, should we stay in Sadrith Mora, or try and escape it's calming influences?Note: Huh! No murder, and no looting.
Crazy.
