   |   Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesDWARF FORTRESS MODDING COMPETITION: MUTANT DWARVES Make a dwarf. Make it a mutant. Make it cool. Don't make it a Teenage Mutant Ninja Antlion. It has to be usable during fortress mode, meaning it doesn't obliterate everything in its path. It needs to be killable. We'll settle who wins with a poll. Go.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesWell, that ends my chances.
I made my dwarves never need alcohol. That makes them monsters, right?

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesHow do you edit dwarves? I'd always wanted to try this, but could never figure it out.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesI don't understand why giving it multiple legs changes it more than giving it multiple arms

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesChanging it from humanoid to something else?Really, I'd only allow additions to the structure, like wings or fins or stuff. But that's just me.

Mine seems to be coming along terribly.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesAlright, I changed my mind. Make one with five arms, so that I can pin people by their four limbs and still punch them in the teeth. Pretty please with sugar on top?

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesYeah, that's fine.
You can also feel free to have your dwarves excrete poison, or even steam.

Just make sure it doesn't incinerate anything it touches, because then it wouldn't really work out in fortress mode.

 Basically: Keep it a dwarf.
It needs to have a beard, be able to stand straight up, and drink alcohol.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesI was trying to mod my dwarves to be made out of adamantine.
 Its harder then it sounds.

Can a mutant dwarf have a exoskeleton?

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesAs long as it can still have a beard, sure.

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant Dwarves>Must be able to function as a dwarf. >If DF were struck with a a giant meteorite, you might see these kinds of dwarves living 5 million years later. I'm making some rather... interesting changes to mine. When I'm done, I'll package up all the files I changed (creature_standard, and the body one). We don't need to be sending the entire region/raws, really. Initial testing:

   |   Re: Dwarf Fortress Modding Competition: Mutant DwarvesHumanoid? And here I was making a big ass black scorpion, with four pincers, a huge extremely poisonus stinger (makes you go blind and bleed from you eyes and then rotts your brain) AND it drools liquid fire (napalm-ish)... ... But she then died of brain rot...
