They hqave stated it multiple times and I'll jsut call you a retard for making such long posts trying to defend your wrong view. Firstly; I would call you a retard for misspelling four-letter words and not bringing out physical evidence earlier, but it seems too obvious of an insult, so I'll just refrain from it- or should I say "jsut"? You should try backing up your points in the beginning of your argument in the future; your actual argument is full of long-winded redundancies which serve no purpose other than to drone on and on about the same thing. Secondly; that actually proves nothing. It's not the official explanation, it's the opinion of one of the moderators there, which is pointed out and confirmed within the first two replies. You should be able to understand context and not take crap at face value. This is about as reliable as a thread on 4chan. Thirdly; the release date is still around two years away. Ergo, very little has been solidly confirmed, including the plot. When the developers (and by developers, I mean freaking Ken Levine and not some two-bit moderator) officially announce that Bioshock Infinite has absolutely nothing to do with Bioshock 1 or 2 and that it is set in a totally different fictional universe, then and only then would it actually be a confirmed fact. Fourth; you're retarded. You're taking unofficial word of mouth and opinion and trying to peddle it as fact in a theoretical discussion. There is no confirmed view here; we are not discussing whether 2+2 is 4 or 5, we are discussing whether X + Y = Z or X + Y = Q when we have no idea what those variables are yet. Fifth; gg. If you honestly still believe that you are in the right then you should probably go get your head examined. Back on topic, please. If you must insist on continuing this useless debate then you can PM me and I'll promptly ignore it, leading you to think I don't have a good reply while giving me a smug sense of superiority and giving the moderators a clean topic free of bull♥♥♥♥. Everybody wins that way.

Y'all, don't be hatin on each other. Neither of you has any definitive proof, so how about we wait until Word of God confirms something?

Re: Bioshock Infinite
It's in the same multiverse, like the DC comics. Superman is never in the same world as Batman, until something universal requires it. There are running themes between the worlds (superhumanity, moral breakdown, insanity...), but they are different worlds. Recent example: Penumbra and Amnesia.
The time frames just don't seem to match up. Also, if there was that kind of magic juice out there before, why is none seen in Rapture? Why are Plasmids required if they are so effective?

Re: Bioshock Infinite
But both Rapture and Colombia are extremely isolated communities; is it any wonder that they might have entirely unique technologies?

Colubia ain't. "Columbia is like the moon landing of 1900, it's a demonstration of power." -Ken Levine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDft7dC6Foo

Re: Bioshock Infinite
Columbia is about as isolated as the moon. Just because it's not as secretive as Rapture doesn't mean that it's a clone of Infinite-era America or vice versa.

Doesn't mean they can't share stuff with the ground, though. They do interact with "foreigners", as seen by Communist Bot.

Re: Bioshock Infinite
Rapture is still pretty unique in of itself in the sense that it's just a conglomeration of scientists/inventors making stuff specifically for Rapture. Vending Machines, Big Daddies, and Security Bots didn't exist before, after all, they were all invented for use in Rapture exclusively. Very little of Rapture's tech is 'borrowed', so to speak.

Re: Bioshock Infinite
I think the other cool element is the complete sense of isolation from the outside world. I'm pumped for infinite, though. Gotta play through BS2 first.

Re: Bioshock Infinite
The original bioshock was more of an exploration and wonderment type of game. I loved that because of never knowing what that damn heavy breathing shadow was around the corner. Part of the fun was taking my time and exploring the weird crap everywhere, anyone could rush through the game if they wanted to.
This one seems a hell of a lot more scripted, which is fine, if the game's going to be a longer one. I still want time to explore weird parts and try to figure out what Columbia's all about. Just don't know if I'm going to be able to with those zip-lines and constant scripted scenes.

Re: Bioshock Infinite
Elizabeth looks pretty damn healthy for someone imprisoned for fifteen years.
I never really paid attention to bioshock, but reading some of the stories makes want hack away at it. Though I kind of dislike the rpg style in the missions.
