If you use the wrangler though, the mini sentry is better in every way over the Level 1, double the armor and a bit more dps. (compared to an unwrangled Level 1).

But you still kill faster using a combo Minisentry/Pistol.

Maybe so, but that doesn't give your sentry the extra 200 life.

I haven't been able to use the mini-sentry, because as soon as I drop it in combat, it gets one-shotted by a random rocket or grenade. I find it better to just run around carrying a lv 2-3 sentry in the less traveled parts of the map until I hear footsteps.

Yeah, Lizard, but the sentry is useless, and as soon as it's destroyed and the person/people are dead I can just plop one down again for distractionary.

Try setting them up just before people fly by a corner, it's fun :3.

Lizard wrote: Try setting them up just before people fly by a corner, it's fun :3. so... gunslinger engies are an ambush class? not a bad idea actually. drop a dispenser, drop a mini-sentry, swap to pistol, stand near dispenser for extra hp, if you survive for long enough you'll get your metal back from the lv 1 dispenser... that's pretty vicious actually. hell, pack up and bring a lv 3 dispenser and wait, then drop the mini-sentry (no beeping)... i gotta try this tomorrow.

You could go as a combat class as well. You mainly have to distract the opponent by shooting him. If he takes the time to aim at and destroy the sentry, plop out another one whilst still shooting him. By the end you will probably be able to plop out another one so you can get some more metal.
