I'm making a pack of simple little maps. Anyone have something they want to see in a map pack? (Eesh, "map pack" makes it sound like I'm aspiring to Gotcha's level of awesome. Hell no! Just foolin' around and making some goofy little maps!) |

are you going to use LUA at some point? I'm just wondering because i would like to see a looooong map, with two little, not too little, bases at each end. And i want the player and the AI to be restricted to deploying dropships and rockets to a nicely sized landing pad. |

Isn't team designated landing zones built-in to the editor? Hey man if you like placing bunkermodules then how about some bunkermod heavy maps? With any actual map designing just being for some large courtyard area surrounded by tunnels and large rooms. Also, I can't get enough of the low gravity moon maps. |

Quote: Isn't team designated landing zones built-in to the editor? In a way. There's an 'area editor', if that's what you're referring to. It creates areas (surprise surprise) to use with Lua. You have to manually script what those areas do, though. (well, at least, i think you do. ) |

Alright, so I have: - large desert scene with small base in the middle - long scene with bases at either end, ideally with small landing zones (which, with the AI, may cause problems with crashing multiple craft, but playing on lower difficulty would ideally solve that) - bunker-intensive scene with actual terrain kept to a relative minimum - mooooooon scene (which, to be honest, is mostly just a matter of setting the gravity low, so you could potentially do that with your favorite scenes anyway) of any particular shape, size, etc? Do I have this right? Oh, and I will eventually get into Lua'd scenes, though I doubt they'll be as high-quality as, say, Weegee's work. EDIT: Oh, and now that I think about it, does anyone have any preferences as to whether the brains are preplaced? In addition, I may need to make some of the maps looping, so that the AI actually spawns properly. Otherwise, I'd just have to make them with the brain all the way to the left. |

woot, 4 maps and you just started. i dont think this will be a small map pack... make the brains not preplaced in case you want to use the fbm computer. |

Also, pre-placed brains make the plays relatively the same each time around since you can't modify stuff right away. |

Alright, cool. I personally hate having preplaced brains anyway, so this works out beautifully. And I also have another five or six simple maps that I've made for myself, Including a take on Zalo's Mt. Momentum and a variation on CaveCricket's Deep Pit, as well as some things I just kinda wanted to try out. Anyway, I'll get on those, and we'll see how they turn out. Let me know if you guys have any more ideas. |

Possible to implement Lord Tim's weather effects into your maps? viewtopic.php?f=73&t=12707 |

if so, mabey you could make some sandstroms in the dessert? (and if this is posable, make them happenat random times) |

Ha. We'll see. I think I'll start off with this simple bit of stuff first, though. I almost have everything; just need to get the moon scene done. Only problem is, unless folks don't mind there being a dependency on (you guessed it) MP3, it won't look much like a moon. Or AAL, which I could potentially post alongside, assuming that's alright. |
