Post subject:  more weapons in scene editor

It really annoys me that I can only place 11 different weapons when using the scene editor.
I attempted to find something in the GUI that would let me add resources or something, but I didn't see anything that I would be able to change so that I could place all the weapons available, even my DarkStorm ones.

If there is a way so that I can be able to select and place these other weapons please let me know.

I'd like to be able to place an item in an actor's inventory instead of placing it in front of them and hoping they pick it up.

sure you can. for just placing them, go to base.rte/settings.ini and raise the MaxUnheldItems variable to however many devices you need.

No, OP's talking about loading other .rtes for use in the scene editor.

It's entirely possible, just a pain in the ass.

The first part of the guide on the Wiki covers it in detail, although it's a slightly outdated tutorial.

It should work for everything you need, but you won't have faction icons or descriptions. Make sure not to copy those from mod indexes to base.rte; just the includefiles.

Also, CrazyMLC, that's on Data's official to do list.

oh, sorry, reading through again i sound like candlejack. "here is an unrelated fix"
in the next build as far as activities goes (and hopefully by proxy, scenes) we are going to be able to define copyofs from a specific .rte (have a look at numgun's B23 activities file), which will fix this problem.
facepalm at my previous response again :roll:
