I'll just get this across first.
I know very little about making scenes.

How do I change the colors of the ground materials? I've already made them, but I can't figure out how to change their colors.

Attached are the textures I made.
If someone would be kind enough to just re-color Grasslands with these, you will be my hero.

I have similar troubles, I made a module, but the colors I made it were always changed to another material. Color for materials is something I'm interested in as well.

Err, yeah, but your issue is with modules. Mine is with the ground. You know, the thing you walk on.
But I bet these are somehow related.

Yep.

Just have to wait for someone to help. >_>

The advice that helps you might help me.

I dont really understand what your trying to say...

If you're wondering how to attach textures to materials in scenes:

Code:
AddMaterial = Material
   Index =
   PresetName =
   Bounce =
   Friction =
   StructuralIntegrity =
   DensityKGPerVolumeL =
   GibImpulseLimitPerVolumeL =
   GibWoundLimitPerVolumeL =
   Priority =
   SettleMaterial =
   Color = Color
      R =
      G =
      B =
   [b]TextureFile = ContentFile
      Path =[/b]

If you want to change the colour appearance of the material without texture, that's what "Color = Color" is for.

If your unsure how to use your new textures for grasslands, it would either require you to paste your .bmp's over the .bmp's in base.rte/scenes/textures, or you create custom materials to use your textures. If you need help with custom materials in scenes, this might help: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13546

I'd be happy to put grasslands in a separate .rte and make custom materials to use your images. Shouldn't take long, but you may want to consider trying it yourself, it's a good lesson to learn.

first of all make sure you're using the scene palette (found in all MAT and terrain files). then get anything that can pick the colour from the palette (gimp, ps, whatever, gg?) and select an index not referenced in base.rte, and paint that. then count what index it is and code your material, and away you go. its a referencing thing.

I think I remember someone saying you have to change the indexed palette as well, to the color you set it in your materials definition.
Here's a gimp version of that palette, if you happen to use Gimp. Mediafire.

Uhhhhh.
After reading this multiple times, I still don't really get it. It would be great if someone could just re-do Grasslands.

As someone stated above, I want the materials to be a custom texture.
Here are the updated textures for the materials:

I'll make it for you tomorrow if I get a couple of minutes spare during work.

Just to clarify, the only thing you want changing is the textures... So the actual materials themselves need to be identical to those used originally? eg: You want dirt to behave in the exact same way as the original dirt, only with a new texture? In which case it's mostly copy and paste.

Awesome, thanks.

Ans yes, that's all I want. I can edit the material values myself.

Easy as pie. Took a little longer then expected but it should be about right...

And your textures weren't in palette, but that's easily fixed.
