Ha, I know this one. There is a only on surface variable. With grass it is set to 1, boulders it isn't.

Would replacing the ground with non-moving doors cause a map to lag a lot? Because that would be awesome for making a fully destructible space ship that doesn't just get dug through like dirt.

Placing lots of doors and mosrotatings will lag the map immensely from what I found out.
I always keep the door-count to an absolute minimum and use mosrotatings (interactive objects) sparingly.

@NeoSeeker: Should be possible with lua. One guy already made a map like that.
