Can someone write me a turn-white-and-shrink script for a vaporizing effect?

I remember seeing something like this in a mod, can't remember which one though.

EDIT: wait, should I have posted this in requests instead?

It's cool, I moved it. Good luck!

blerr I bet this would have gotten more responses in the mod making section. It's just sinking down in requests.

The flash white function only applies to actors (iirc), so it would help if there were some kind of context for this effect you want. Throw out some info on your mod and the timing you want this effect to appear at.

I figured out the target.FlashWhite function, but I'm having trouble getting the actor (and it's bodyparts) to shrink after turning white. I noticed there's something called (target.)Scale, but there are some problems on recognizing the actor as the target...

I still got ideas to test out, and if I'm lucky, I might work it out on my own.

Also, about the scale shrinking - If I make the actor shrink, does it's bodyparts shrink simultaneously? (or do I have to make them shrink individually as the arms/legs/head with the root.ID of the actor?)

They have to shrink individually, which might look weird, considering their offsets will remain constant.

The offsets won't be a problem, it will be much more aesthetic if the limbs 'float' in the air while disintegrating. Tweaking the GlobalAccScalar of the actor while it disintegrates would make it look even better. I've also thought about making the actor and it's limbs spam some gray pixels around, making it look as if it was turning into dust.

HOWEVER I still haven't managed to get it working  The effect is for a plasma rifle (VERY similar to the one in Fallout 3 and NV) that shoots emitters, which on impact damage the actor with both sharp pixels and lua removing the health of the actor based on it's mass, similarly to the vanilla ground flame script. || The effect itself comes to place when the actor's health reaches 0 when shot.

I might eventually just go with the pixel damage, but in case anyone ever comes up with anything, I'll leave this here.

As far as I know, you can't change the actor's GlobalAccScalar. What you've got to do is give it an Y velocity that is higher than the gravity of the scene.

I wouldn't mind helping you, but I didn't get which are your problems specifically.
