I might get around to it after I finish my Royal Army Cold War thing, I'm hungering to make some SKS, AKM, AK74M, RPDs, PKs, aww yeah.

Of course, I will try to keep the sprites in the same style and scale as the ones in vanilla CC.

But yeah. It'll take a while

in the meantime, I'd recommend you check out Theatre of Death, they have a good Russian faction that uses soviet weapons. (albeit in a much different scale that I'm not fond of).

There's been a lot of mods that use Soviets as their theme.
Bear Federation, TOD Russia, and The Red Legion are three of the most memorable Soviet factions. Search for them.

All of them have too funky scales relative to vanilla for my liking, I'll probably just include the default CC AK47, relisted as AKM with ammo and graphical tweaks as the AK in my soviet pack, as well as the default CC RPG. Don't fix what isn't broken :)
