Post Something to attempt: Slimes.
After experiencing many mods from this forum, the one thing I want to see is this:
(Body) Slimes that turn into smaller Slimes when gibbed, and possibly combine into larger ones when given the chance.
That would be their key feature!

I read something similar about a zombie-robot mod but it's apparently broken so I haven't tried that.

I believe this is a rewarding challenge for any modder to accomplish and stuff so someone please attempt it :)
And damn bloody FUN to actually use when complete.

(at the moment myself am just starting out learning how to edit .ini's and going to move to lua's later)

Very interesting idea, and it wouldn't be hard to do at all.

Except for making them act slimy, but still it wouldn't be hard at all.
Make them gib into two smaller versions when dead, and give them a lua script that checks if there is a slime of the same size nearby, if they come close enough, delete both and create a bigger one near.

Easy concept over all, if you find a spriter I would gladly help.

I wouldn't mind helping with the sprite work, if I get to know what to sprite exactly. :P
Something like this? Image
And how would they move? Do they have some sort of legs?

I didn't think about moving at all.
Can invisible legs be created?
Or maybe we can make it slide with lua, but I would have to do huge researches to get such code.

My apologies, Miggles. What was I thinking.

Legs can be made invisible by using 'null/empty' sprites, but I don't think they can walk on invisible legs.

Maybe slimy looking actors, not necesarilly slimes, and we can place some emitters to them and make them emit "slime" to give them the feel.

I'm thinking a semitransparent body with at least 4 legs made to look like part of the body.
The slime would move like an amoeba visually but actually like a slug/snail using stubs.

I'm not sure about the semi-transparent thing though, but the rest seems legit.

So, if anyone sprites this or anything I would gladly help in any part of the coding.

For a placeholder, you guys can use the sprites from my B22 mod, Cells.

They're slimy enough for ya?

Interesting mod you made. You should continue it! There's a big lack of alien factions and yours fits right in. :)

Haha, thanks. Now that I've got a full-time job (and still on my last leg of college), I have found that my free time is greatly reduced.
Still, after B25 came out, I suddenly found myself with a lot of mods that I want to update to B25. I also have a faction or two that I've finished spriting since late B23 but haven't finished yet. So yeah, I'll be learning how to convert to B25.
Expect SET, Cordyc, Banana Republic, and GWTB to make a definite comeback. Other than that, maybe do something with Cells, Organic Bunkers and MGS Cobra Team. There's also four or five new faction I've yet to finish coding... it'll take a while. But I'll get there.
Also, good luck with Unitec! Any chance of updating Vault-Tec with awesomeness?
