I have another wonderful idea and proposition. As we all know we have elevators (thanks to Sim_Doc). But i was just wondering if anyone could make a crane that delivered soldiers vertically. e.g. over a deep gorge. So if anyone who is just as enthused about something that could make base life easier please make it, cause I just don't have the time these days. Edit: p.s. pic has been updated sorry if I miss guided anyone with last picture.

If it's enclosed with a tunnel anyways, why bother? [unless it were really fast] If it went along a no-collision cable, though, that could be handy, especially if it didn't have to be straight horizontal, but could automatically work between two points. I may give that a try sometime. In the meantime, this might serve your purposes. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17907&p=334158&hilit=accelotron#p334158 (you can fiddle with equal opposition to make it a little safer to use) |

I see what you're getting at, you want the lift to be combined with this to make a crane-like construction? |
