Post Spriting Practice
So. You give me an item (small-medium sized) along with a referance picture (not required) and I'm going to attempt to sprite it for the sake of spriting practice. Any sprites I create in this topic are free for anyone and everyone to use, but give some credits.

Important features:
Green rectangle of a barrel, with all the sweet bolts and the air pressure gauge on the solenoid valve.
Scrap the body and the cart, CC tech gives us free energy and stuff.

A muzzle flash based on the failure on that page would be awesome.

Sprite as much as this as you can. Make the centre a sphere, and omit as much of the side tendrils as you deem necessary. This is meant to be a practice in curves, and if you have problems then feel free to ask for help. A good scale to start with would be the sun having a diameter of 7-13 pixels.

Cave, may I suggest oyu use more shades for each color?
Like, instead of only one darker shade on that sword have many similar ones.
That's how CC's palette is set up anyways :P

Not too bad. You could probably stand to look at how light hits real life objects a little bit though, but that requires you sprite something you actually have in front of you.

I'm impressed CC48 I really didn't think you could do it with all the tiny details on the sword. You even managed to add in the little cracks/seams on the back of the sword. The edge of the blade and the gold trim are very well done. The only think I can even think of criticizing is the color of the blade excluding the edge could be a tad darker, but thats just personal preference on my part.

All-in-all great job, but I have a feeling this didn't even pose a challenge to you.

Honestly, I find it more difficult to sprite something undetailed than something with a lot of detail. Probably because I get bored easily.

Those are what I call "first-round" sprites. I only worked on them once and that's it, though I could re-work them and improve (like what I usally do before even releasing a sprite).
