Post Best newbie tutorial here?
I was looking for the absolute best tutorial for modders that know absolutely nothing about modding the game. I tried to find other tutorials but I didnt find very many in-depth ones, and I cant choose which one of the tutorials to do. So can you help me choose?

A bomb. A Halo bomb, to be exact. I tried on my own, and it screwed up. It screwed up REALLY bad. Instead of coming down at high speeds and exploding, it fell not very fast, turned around on mid air, and dug through the ground. Oh, and if you would like to know what I'm making, its a MAC Cannon. Also, the sprite sucks really bad. All I have attempted is a MAC Cannon round.

Edit: I tried again. it worked worse. It spun slowly in air, when it hit the ground it was so fast that it just kinda dissapeared and ripped a huge hole in the ground.

Isn't that what a MAC cannon is supposed to do? Aren't they just huge slug rounds?

Huge slug rounds that dont spin around on an axis and dig sort of through the ground. it is like small patches all down in the ground. Oh, and Mac Blasts are supposed to explode on impact.

You need to have a lower GibImpulseLimit for it to explode on impact.
And i believe OrientToVel makes it change direction in response to it's velocity, though I'm not sure, so i need someone to verify this.

A+ for adding that caveat, DXP.

Also, you're correct.

OrientToVel = 0.0-1.0 will rotate the actual object so that it's traveling along its motion vector.

Okay thanks. I would like that because I dont think it would take too much. I understand the basic .ini framework now. I'm also going to create a beginners modding template that will teach someone who has never modded how to mod by breaking down the sections and telling what they do and having a .txt that tells them what to do to edit things. So dragonxp, I will PM you when I'm ready.
