This has probably been thought of before, but since mods like Unitech and Smartbrain have scripts that modify the AI, I was thinking that it might be possible to use such a script to force the AI to use spin up weapons... You could have an editable list of weapons that need to be spun up, and make the code recognize if an actor is using the weapon, and then force them to fire for a set amount of time when they aim at a target with on of these weapons. If the target was no longer in range, it would continue firing in the last direction pointed until the time ran out. Sound viable? |

People have made plenty of AI behavior-changing mods. Spin up weapons are no different. People would just put something like, say SpinUp = true in their weapon ini code and a mod would change the AI behavior by seeing that. Someone could do it. Not me. |

Actually, it's not as simple as that because of the stupid AI and the fact that when the AI fires, it doesn't "hold" the fire button, it jsut taps it repeatedly, making weapons like the coalition gatling gun useless in their hands. |
