Also, in case you're lazy, here is a specific guide to what you are doing wrong. EDIT: The image is not loading for me. Yes, AOE does stand for Area Of Effect. As long as your muzzleflash is large enough, it won't be possible to see that you have not actually swung the hammer.

Well the message failed when I tried to reply, but okay. Basically, for putting things in palette, open palette.bmp in base.rte, paste your sprite in and save it over the sprite's file. That's about it. Make sure you don't save over palette.bmp.

I mean I changed the sounds, I'm messing with the digging particles from Ronin's shovel and all that good stuff. It's just the pallet that's kicking my ass because I'm throwing around a bigass block.

What's the problem? All you do is copy-paste the hammer into palette and save the product as Zillyhoo.bmp. Do not overwrite the palette. Easy peasy.
