Macross missiles are missiles which dodge about an unnecessary amount, by the way. Roboteching lasers are lasers which are bending an implausible amount. Both fun vocab to have.

make a bunker system that goes thru your mods randomly and chooses something from an index.ini or a devices.ini to spawn beneath it.
So it could spawn AAL one minute and spawn Ronin the next.
It should be so that you have it selected and you jump with it or something.

Asklar unfortunately most of that's impossible. The engine currently just gibs things when you detach them with Lua. I had the exact same idea once, and even spent the time to make it, but it was just an instant-gib gun, which didn't have the same appeal.

Really? I tried (and it was HORRIBLE) in vain then.

I'll just try to get more ideas.

Oh oh oh, I have one, that I tried to make but failed horribly, too.

It's something like a missile that upon hitting a target, sticks to it and moves the actor around. But the thing is that you can control the movement of the missile, so that you could make it fly around and crash stuff just like you wanted.

Dont know if this thread is still active or not,but is it possible to make a box that will randomly give your actor some power?Like he comes to a box and gets invincible,or goes on fire,or gets super heavy and crush people when he jumps on them or he becomes drunk,or becomes superslow...Dont know,maybe stupid,but it was always fun when you play something where you DON`T know what you will get :) One man army and loads of surprise XD

I already made a separate thread for this one, but I'll put it here too because it seems more likely to get picked up, and it seems a lot more specific (and probably a lot easier) than most of these other suggestions. Basically, my dream is to have an actor that's basically a crab, but with a launcher attached to its back that shoots out more identical crabs with launchers on them, so that they multiply exponentially. It doesn't need to have any weapons or anything, I just want the only danger to be getting crushed under an expanding wave of crabs. Since it's basically a crab in both art and script, but with a relatively minor addition, I figure it wouldn't be too difficult. Obviously, this would probably require some lua coding, which is why I'm not doing it myself, but it still seems pretty easy to me since it's basically an add-on to an already existing actor.

I think I saw somewhere a guy made something like that that was a dreadnought that shot dreadnoughts, without Lua.

A Deus Ex mod would be awesome. With LAMs, the GEP Gun, and the Hand Crossbow, it could kick ass. There were so many fun weapons in that game, a mod based on it couldn't fail.
