Im making a mod. A car! Ive looked for cars and cant find any and heres what ive got. Ok so as i work on one can someone else work on one and in the end well compare and use the better one. And i will try to get it done. I like to have some competition so tahts why im asking for you to make one while im making one.

In one thread you're talking about not knowing how to make a simple melee weapon and now you talk about making a car, one of the toughest things one could make. Seriously, what the hell are you on?

Start with simple things first, one step at a time. If you fail at making a basic gun/sword then you'll fail at everything else as well. Guaranteed.

No Gotcha no. Im not making a driveable car. Im making a tossed car for the l4d thrown objects. You set it down then shoot it till it explodes or just hit it with the tank and it should chunk it. So i am starting small still.

well, are you making a campaign?
i think the idea of them being set down is bad.
they should be preset.
and only the tank can pick them up.
maybe do something like in lfd2 where you can only operate the tank for a few minutes, i think they did something like that in klone soccer.
i wouldnt mind spriting a car but i cant script
last thing, are they going to be side, back, 3/4th or front view

Well i was thinking of side but it would be too long so back veiw of it and i think ive got the scripting. Im starting to learn Lua and codes. so ive got that part pretty much down.

@Grif I think we should have one topic as a general "ask a question get an answer" dealio. With the new vision for DR that's rolling around, this is going to be typical thing. I suspect that soon enough people who do not ask questions like these will be the minority.

Soooo are you gonna make a side veiw of a car sprite to help out? I can do all the codes and Lua (if needed). But ill do the codes you do sprites. Sprites if you can do them: Car van truck deisel(i dont know if possible) and thats about it. PM me if you are or not please and tell me how your gonna help with the rest of our mod.

Panda, you're never going to learn how to do anything if you keep asking people to do things for you.

In other words, you'll never learn how to fish if we just hand you a salmon.

Look for spriting tutorials, we have at least one, and try to make it yourself. If you don't like how it looks just ask for help in the Sprite Help Thread.

Anyhow, no matter how bad you are at something you can always improve... not to be offensive, but look at Lafe. His sprites used to be horrible - and now they're bearable.

I am working on the car sprites but theyre not looking so good but still trying to get the basic car down. Its taken me almost two days to just get the basics down.

If you think you can do the coding then make a temporary ugly car sprite and do your coding bit to make it working/explode/whatever.
Then, after your part is done, ask for a better sprite. It's your best hope to receive help. People want to see you're serious before they start wasting your their time on you.

Well that would be a good idea and thats what im gonna try to do if i can get done with some other stuff of mine. Personal or minor mods they are.
