Post Are these possible, and how could it be done?
I know almost nothing about Lua so I need some help for a project I have been working on (the basic idea is a mix of the District 9 arc gun crossed with the half-life gauss gun). I have a few questions about if these are possible.

Could a guns spin up be stopped when it has completely spun up and hold it like a charge so you could fire it later without having to spin up again?( like samus's charge beam in Metroid)

Could holding a charge for to long have random side effects besides misfiring? The effects could range from random discharges after you try to charge it up, the coils spark then blowup discharging a cone of electric sparks and shrapnel like buckshot, and just plainly backfiring gibing the user.

Lastly I would like it that when the shot hits it's target it would Gib the target creating a chain lighting effect that deals a moderate amount of damage to anything nearby. If a shot doesn't hit anything it would create a short lived electric discharge field that would act a bit like the dummies granade.
Thank you for your time and Good Day!

all of what you asked for is possible, yes

it will require major attachable reworking and basically completely lua controlled firing.
