Hey. I really want to learn Lua, but I can't find any Cortex Command specific tutorials. So, yeah, how do I like make the Lua files and where do they go first of all. And then how do I learn what to put into those files? Thanks. I know this is immesnly newby, but you know. Thanks. |

Start with regular lua tutorials. Then learn about the binding interface. |

What's the binding interface? Sorry if that is a really retarded question, but I am kind of new to Lua. And is it alright to learn a scripting language through a game, then leanr a programming language for general stuff? |

First learn the sintax, then read through the CC specifc documentation so you know what to do with it. |

So, does that answer my latest question about the bindings, and all the other crap I asked? And where can I apply the syntax, where can I input basic Lua without having to use a game? Must it be linked with another language like C++? |

Ignore the rest of these suggestions. Besides that luadocs link. That one is good. Learning lua is best through a game because it's a SCRIPTING LANGUAGE. Learning Lua isn't best through cortex command at the moment. CC's implementation is varied and pretty disgusting. Try learning it through a game like love or garrysmod or crysis or something(Only until you get the ropes and basic syntax down), then take a look at other people's mods, try things out to learn how they work, and you'll eventually have it down pat. |
