Game wont start - base.rte error

Post subject:  Game wont start - base.rte error
Im posting this here because i havnt had a reply in the general troubleshooting thread.


I got the B25 download from Humble indie bundle and i have this problem:

Abortion in file .\system\reader.cpp line 534 because:

Referring to an instance ('Base.rte/AK-47') to copy from that hasn't been defined in Base.rte/Scenes/Physics Test.ini at line 106!

I havn't got any mods and i reinstalled it several times to check.

I looked for physics test and it looks like this:



AddScene = Scene
PresetName = Physics Test
Description = For testing physics.
LocationOnPlanet = Vector
X = 0
Y = 0
GlobalAcceleration = Vector
X = 0
Y = 20

Terrain = SLTerrain
PresetName = Physics Test Terrain
BitmapFile = ContentFile
Path = Base.rte/Scenes/Terrains/Test.bmp
WrapX = 1
WrapY = 0
ScrollRatio = Vector
X = 1.0
Y = -1.0
BackgroundTexture = ContentFile
Path = Base.rte/Scenes/Textures/DirtDark.bmp

AddBackgroundLayer = SceneLayer
CopyOf = Near Layer
AddBackgroundLayer = SceneLayer
CopyOf = Clouds Layer
AddBackgroundLayer = SceneLayer
CopyOf = Sky Layer

i had a similar error. First of all check all mods you have. Delete them then reinstall them 1 by one to find the problem and finally if you cant get that to work then you could always reinstall the game in another place and test it there.

or (I put what solved it for me here) :-

Right Click Cortex Command Icon > Properties > Advanced > Run as Administrator > OK

Should give permissions for folders
