Our story begins.... I have two Macs a 2009 MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro with the latest Beta Graphics Driver Apple released for the GTX285. The Mac Pro cannot run CC smoothly even though its an 8 core (I think this is the issue though) What happens is on the Mac Pro is the Mouse Lags .... I see the Native Mouse Pointer and the CC rendered yellow pointer and they never can keep up with each other. The CC Yellow pointer is super slow and really non responsive as it follows the Mac Mouse pointer. The selection wheel in game is also messed up and its difficult to see what I'm selecting because the little arrow in the wheel sometime renders and sometimes not .... all while being super slow. Right now the game is unplayable since it take about a minute to do anything. Any ideas I searched quite a bit to see if anyone had a post on this but I'm still stumped. Thanks all MM PS - The Dual core MBP works fine |

More cores don't make CC run better as much as you'd expect, as CC can only use one core. All the other cores are just handling everything else, CC is very much about clock speed rather than number of cores. That said, it shouldn't run as badly as you describe it. I suspect it is an issue with the beta drivers you're using. Try reverting to the stable ones, and see if that fixes it. |

Cortex Command is a bit like Crysis , Buts only because the creator hasn't improved in areas like that. |

I updated the OS to a newer version and it seems to work now! Right Mouse does not pull up the Wheel Menu but using control does .... so I will continue working on it. Also I was running a Program called HyperDock which was just updated to fix a supposed performance issue.... I'm pretty sure this could have been the overall cause. Thanks for the help everyone. Ya Dan should work on the multiprocessing support but CC seems to work fine without it. I think things like bullet casings that cut through solid Earth & Concrete as they eject are more important fixes. But it is cool to see this level of detail. I like everyone else here probably looks daily for another update to this Amazing game MM |

majormauser wrote: I like everyone else here probably looks daily for another update to this Amazing game Don't bother looking every day, unless you're here for the community. The game itself won't be updated for at least a couple more months, and even that's a bit on the hopeful side. |

Casings Fix. or, for additional fixes; Unofficial Cortex Command Patch You only need one, not both. |

Contrary to popular belief, crysis does not require a lot of raw power to be ran by a PC. This, and how is CC like crysis? Crysis is a lot heavier on GPU then it is on CPU, a current age i3 should easily run it on highest. But then again, that same i3 should run CC on 2000 fps. |

Your issue is/was software, and CC's mac port using outdated code. It does not play nice with most mice, or properly mask the cursor itself. This would be fixed with an update to the game, or even to some extent a recompile using newer SDKs. You can basically forget about getting the right-mouse menu to work reliably, but if you are successful, let people know. As mentioned above, the game does not use more cores, it only cares about a single core at one time, and the ram it can devour. A dual-core will beat a solo, but a quad will see less improvement. An 8, 12, or 16 will barely notice any improvement, if CC is the only demanding process running. |
