Well,I`ve tried anything, but the game is always slow.I`m playing on 640x480 resolution, with delta time= 2,without post processing and glow,I`ve optimized the pyro.ini, and now explosion effects last less. But no use anyway - when I start digging or explode something, sounds become low and game slows down. Can I somehow remove ground particles? They cant effect the game, but they realy eat too much CPU.Or any other suggestions to speed the game up?I mean, without buying new PC? My PC: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz Ram 2gb Windows Xp sp3 |

play smaller maps, your 2GB ram will bottleneck it on large scenes. also deltatime = 2 should make your game stutter all over the place. if you've got the game in C:\Program Files, move it to your desktop and it should work. |

There are a variety of ways, documented here, but it will be quite difficult for the computer you are using to produce any great amount of speed. Apart from this, just follow Geti's advice as he has given it in this thread. |

I think the main problem here is that you've probably got the game sitting in C:\Program Files, but with XP I'm not sure if that matters or not.. Regardless, deltatime of ~0.03 is where the game starts stuttering, a deltatime of 2 would invoke objects glitching through the ground etc. I suggest deleting the game entirely (keep your key safe if need be), and installing again so that your settings.ini is in it's original state. Move all of the files from C:\Program Files\Data Realms\ to your documents or desktop. Then go here as allstone suggested and follow the guide. I used to run a P4 like yours with 1.5 GB RAM, and I've gotten acceptable performance on a Pentium M 1.8Ghz on small maps, so unless you've got malware raping your computer, you should be fine. |

If you keep having problems I reccomend you look up this program called GameBooster, designed to close unneccesairy processes in your computer to save computing power. |

BTW, isn't 3.2 more then enough to run both CC and windows+other ♥♥♥♥? I mean, 2.6 ghz makes for 1000 fps becuase windows is on another core, all the programs can't use more then 5% or so. Maybe CC just doesn't like the pentium 4? And 2gb memory is more then enough on xp, because if your mods folder gets even close to 1gb you're way over the line. And wtf did you do to the delta time? 2 seriously? |

P4s are single core; even though CC isn't multithreaded, being able to dedicate a CPU core to CC massively improves performance. |
