Win 7(64 bit), CC not starting up.
No error message at all. Process appears for a quick while and then goes away. Installed outside of Program Files, tried running as admin and fresh install. Any ideas on what to do?

This is alarmingly similar to what happens under wine if you install through wine rather than a windows system. try running a copy from another computer?

Tried compatibility mode or anything like that? I have 7 Home Premium x64 and use it without any issues.

Try it on any kind of USB drive.

Every computer at my school fails to run CC unless it is on a USB drive.
If that doesn't work, move the CC directory to the desktop. Also, do you have the (I think) C++ downloaded thingy? Some people need to download that to make it work.

Found a USB drive. No success. Got the Visual C++ runtimes. No success.

Do you have problems with any other program? Have you tried seeing if your computer's install works with any other computer?

Re: Win 7(64 bit), CC not starting up.
Isn't this an issue with the permissions of the Program Files folders? Have you tried running it from a non-default location?
Actually, after some investigation, the above issue is not really a problem with W7, but with how Data packages the game.
Anyway, install it into a non-standard location and retry.

Tried with an install copied from my dead laptop. Ran from both flash drive and user directory. CC is only program being bothersome on this computer so far.

Strange. What version of Windows 7 are you using? I've got Ultimate and no problems. Except the fullscreen bitchin'.

Re: Win 7(64 bit), CC not starting up.
I have Win 7 64 bit and it runs fine, my CC is in my user name in documents, inside a folder called games and then in the CC folder, since it is: Libraries\Documents\Games\Cortex Command Rather than: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cortex Command There is very little difference, however program files prevents files from being created or edited. Other than that there should be no problems or errors, is there any problem with display drivers or RAM?
