Post So I've tried....
So a couple of weeks ago I tried downloading mods and always got the error message "could not find data module". I tired lots of things posted online but none of them worked. So I kinda gave up.

A few days ago, I tried it again one more time just for kicks and it worked!

Then I realized that some files worked while others did not. The .zip download files seem to be working just fine, but the .rte download files always give me error.

Is there something i can do?

Thanks

Yup, anything before .zip or .rar is just the folder name. Doesn't change how the file works.

You have to use WinRAR to extract the folder from the .rar.

The folder's name should end in .rte.

Here's a link to WinRAR: http://www.rarlab.com/

Also, it's good to take a look in the folder. If you get "mod.rte/mod.rte/" then you know what's wrong.
Basically, inside the .rte folder, make sure there's an Index.ini file that starts with the line "DataModule" at the very top.
