Post [Windows 7 64Bit]Lag Issues -FIXED
Hi all,
I'm currently having a weird problem with CC.
It runs just fine apart from one problem, i´m getting random massive lag spikes. Even while in the menus. There is no real timeframe in wich this happens, it´ll work fine for hours sometimes and sometimes it´ll just keep on lagging out on me.
The way i normally fix this is by switching to fullscreen and back. This is never a permanent fix.

Im running CC on the following computer.
Intel Core2Duo 2 Ghz.
4 Gig DDR2 ram

I´ve tried all of the basic fixes and none of them have been successfull.

sense, my post should make it now.

_______________________________________EDIT

Fixed it, disabling hardware acceleration from the Nvidia control panel seems to have unbroken it(no problems for the entire day now! :D )

Your specs are very similar to my macbook, a 2.4GHZ 4GB machine.
I theorize that the problem is not with the hardware, but with some windowsian thing.
Racking brains for potential solutions... Maybe compatibility mode?

I've tried compatibility modes and running as admin, nothing seems to be helping :(

It's installed on a non-system partition, D:\Games\Cortex Command. about 300 Gig free on that and 200 on C
I've also disabled UAC in hopes of that being the problem, wasn't the case.

Hmm... I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate too but no lag issues. So i guess it's not about the OS.

You're probably right, had the same issue on Vista with this machine. so i'm gonna check any CPU/BIOS powersaving things wich might cause this.
Weird though that only CC does this.

You're right AzMilion, about the nVidia Control Panel.

Personally, I didn't turn the GPU Acceleration option off.
But I toggled some options specifically for CC.
Here is what I changed :
"Antialiasing - Gamma correction" -> OFF
"Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration" -> COMPATIBILITY PERFORMANCE MODE
"Power management mode" -> PREFER MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE
"Texture filtering - Quality" -> HIGH PERFORMANCE
"Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization" -> OFF

It seems the "Texture filtering - Quality" option was the most harmful one : when in "High Quality" (my default parameter, as I play some 3D games), CC worked at 5 FPS.
