Has anyone tried playing CC on Linux (more specifically Ubuntu)? I want to try it but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble.

This topic appears to be a moderately appropriate place to post this: I can't get CC working on Wine, using Ubuntu 9.10 and Wine 1.1.42.

Whenever I try to open the EXE, I get these two errors:

Can't load MSVCP80.dll

I get the second error despite having the DLL in my system32 folder. I've tried using the OSS sound emulation, but it doesn't affect anything.

The terminal spits this out:
fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.VC80.CRT" (8.0.50727.762)

I would really like to get this working, as I can no longer use Windows.

May 4 edit: Okay, turns out there are two problems: 1. Wine version and 2. Cortex Command copy protection. Running Build 18 with Wine 1.1.35 works fine.

I'd really like to run B23 though. Especially since I, y'know, bought the game (don't listen to my title image, it's a filthy liar).
