Look in your CC folder. What does that have in there? A couple of .rte folders? And what do those archives you downloaded contain? More .rte folders? Do the math, please. (By the way, I sure as hell hoping you don't mean by that that you can't open the archives. If you do... ask someone to show you the Mac equivalent of winrar.) |

Metal Meltdown wrote: Look in your CC folder. What does that have in there? A couple of .rte folders? But jeez, the search is up there at the top nav bar. I hate that you cannot search, but I will explain the process. Right-Click or control-click the icon, and select "show package contents." Open the "Contents" folder. Open "Resources." You may also Right-Click this folder and choose to create an alias, with eliminates the previous steps for the future. Put the alias somewhere else, named "Cortex Resources" or something. Now that you have resources open, you simply place extracted mods in here. Mods should be a folder with the file extension ".rte", like this: "base.rte" DO NOT screw with the files that are there in the original instal of CC unless you actually know what you are doing. However, I encourage you to open and read the ".ini" files, these are what define the objects used in the game. These are simply text, you may open them with the default editor, or download and use the superior TextWrangler. For example, you would edit the "Skirmish Activities.ini" in "Missions.rte" to modify the variable for the starting funds for a given team in the skirmish. Have fun, and in the future look harder. |

Because it's a better idea to point you to something that's already been said several times rather than clutter up the subforum, and suck up server space. Also, he was directing his "advice" towards people who have been here a while. |

This seems to be the correct post, but it's inaccurate. http://forums.datarealms.com/viewtopic.php?p=250368 Badly so, as it indicates that you can simply dump mods at the root of the package. This is false. CC only looks for mods in the Resources folder. It seems really stupid to have the official forum post on the subject be incorrect, so I have submitted a revision. I hope that adds some clarity to the thread. I believe that if you can re-state something better, you ought to. There is little point in allowing out of date or inaccurate information to pile up around you. |

PhantomAGN wrote: It seems really stupid to have the official forum post on the subject be incorrect, so I have submitted a revision. To whom did you submit it? Kelas is no longer a mod, and I don't believe regular users can edit their own posts if the post it locked. If you got it to a redname, nvm this post as it'll get done. |

Stop bumping the topic and stop replying to people taking the piss out of you - just report it and we will deal with it. People will answer when they're around. [EDIT] By the way just for shits and giggles - is the guide for mod installation in Mod Releases correct? I'll sub in Phantoms post if it isn't. Installation Guide |
